We arrived at the Alley Apartment to find heating & TV on - very cosy & very welcoming. Our bedrooms were wonderful - well set up for a great night's sleep. However a number of aspects of this rental did not meet expectations. We expected a fully equipped kitchen but had only hot plates and a microwave. There was not enough cutlery for four people. A power board on the floor for a number of appliances did not seem the safest. The dining table only had seating for three. We had a problem with the plumbing but the owner was very quick to respond. The property is in a wonderful location but some of the facilities mean it does not meet its full potential. A lovely spot but disappointing considering the money paid.

Wonderfully easy to arrange and dealing with Goodstays staff was a breeze with prompt responses each time and very professional. No request or communication was too hard.
We loved that it was so close to town and so it was easy to walk down into town for a night out and not have to use our car (which we left in the driveway of the property) on a few occasions.
The property was light and airy and the bedrooms were very comfortable and clean. There was more than enough linen and towels for us to use.
We had a number of our family and friends who also stayed in Queenstown compliment us on the choice of our accomodation as it looked cute from the road (with the beautiful white roses in full bloom).
We would love to return again in the future and perhaps book the bigger apartment next door if we bring family.

Great location and facilities with very comfortable rooms. Dining and lounge furniture is a bit past its prime.

Very Disappointed,With working out of Invercargill on a regular basis. this was the first time i was frustrated by the lack of kitchen utilities, 1 pot no peelers no knives, no cutting boards. 1 soap for every one to share for a whole week. at double the price i have paid anywhere else in New Zealand.
Extremely difficult process to secure accommodation through goodstay.

Here at Goodstays we operate self catering holiday homes, while we offer several items for the guest's convenience such as toilet rolls, a couple of rubbish bags, dishwashing liquid and dishcloths, anything else that the guest might require for their stay needs to be provided by the guest themselves. In terms of cost, Queenstown is the tourism capital of New Zealand and unfortunately prices reflect this, and thus are incomparable to the real estate markets in most of the country. The apartment itself was nice and location was good. Watch for the hill though, it’s steep. Sadly the apartment was empty of any extras. No salt & pepper, no complimentary tea/coffee/sugar. No milk provided. I have stayed in Air BnB throughout the world, and this had to be the cheapest setup I’ve seen. Everywhere else provides all goodies, including shampoo & conditioner in the shower, the above refreshments, and food for breakfast etc, this place did not. I know it says self catered, but those small things go a long way. Also no cleaning agents like surface sprays or toilet cleaners to enable the guest to clean after themselves. The advertised spa pool did not work (and had been out of commission for a long time, evidenced by the dust gathered around it), and replaced with a tiny portable thing that could only hold 2 people. Fixing a spa does not take weeks to do. On one day a repairman turned up to fix a fault in another part of the building, and just walked straight in without introducing himself. I thought, who the **** is this person walking in liked he owned the place!! All in all I would not stay at a place managed by Goodstays in the future.

The location of the property was fantastic, very close to town and a short walk down to the lake. The property was very clean and tidy. Would have been great to have a few basic consumables like tea/ coffee etc that generally is provided with most accommodation. The weather was fantastic, very hot inside but there are no latches on the windows so can't really open them to cool the place down as they blow around in the breeze and we were scared we break the glass. Dan was fantastic, helped us out with the spa as it was padlocked and offered to take us out on the downhill tracks when he finished work one night which we took him up on his offer and it was awesome. Thank you.
