Galway Court is a beautifully appointed holiday home situated in a private enclave on the esteemed Queenstown Hill. Framed by panoramic mountain views, comfort and elegance converge at this beautiful and modern home, making it the perfect Queenstown getaway.

ACCOMMODATION DETAILS:
Boasting quality throughout, this three-bedroom, three-bathroom home is warm and welcoming. A great winter base camp with a gas fire for ambiance plus good heating options throughout. In the summertime, dine alfresco, relax on the substantial patio area, and enjoy one of the world’s greatest views.

The interior of this holiday home has open plan living areas with peak ceilings to echo the surrounding mountains and maximise light and space. The lounge décor epitomises class and comfort rolled into one. The spacious, gourmet kitchen with views flows conveniently onto the dining area. The dining table for eight guests with sliding doors out to the balcony for more outdoor R&R.

Clever design provides several balconies and outdoor spaces for the home, with large sliding glass doors epitomising the ease of indoor-outdoor living. The home is fitted with entertainment feature such as flat screen TVs, a DVD player and an iPod docking station. A sweeping driveway sets off the magnificent view, leading up to a double garage, with room in the driveway for 2 more cars – no worrying about finding a park!

This delightful and contemporary home is close to Queenstown’s conference venues such as the Millennium and Copthorne, within walking distance to Queenstown’s restaurants, bars, lakefront and adventure tours, as well as the beautiful Queenstown Gardens.

We stayed at 9 Galway Court from 10/7 until 17/7. The house was great! Spacious, clean, well set up kitchen, and amazing views. Excellent location only a short walk into town. One problem though - the house was really cold. Central heating, 5 heaters, and a gas fire, yet the house was still cold. We would wake up in the morning to a freezing house, the central heating was on all night, but not enough heat for the size of the house. As requested we turned the heaters off during the day when we were not home. The central heating was on all day, and yet when we returned at the end of the day the house was freezing. After turning 5 heaters on, the gas fire, and the central heating, the upstairs living room never felt cosy. The downstairs master ensuite bathroom had no heating whatsoever and was absolutely freezing. When paying this much per night for accomodation we would have expected better. Also, although the white bedding was all crisp and beautifully clean, the duvet covers, and scatter cushions, particularly in the main bedroom, are filthy and need washing!

The house has a great deck with a great view. The furnishings are above average, and the beds comfortable. However, with hot summer weather, the master bedroom became unusable due to the temperature. The central air conditioning unit could not cool the master. The unit is set on a timer that automatically shuts off after 2 hours, meaning you have to wake up to restart the air. We were only 3 people, so one slept in a twin room, and one on the couch because the master was too hot to sleep in. Great house, but if you can't rest at night, the stay was not enjoyable.

We loved our stay at Galway Court, the view was amazing. Was great to have 2 living areas. Bedrooms were nice and warm, although the upstairs lounge/kitchen area didnt heat up quite as well. The carpet could do with a clean, and spouting needs some attention to fix leaks/dripping outside bedrooms. Overall very happy with our stay and would love to come back

Large house with plenty of spaces. Cold on arrival. The central heating didn’t work well. Other heaters were provided and we had a warm house after 24 hours. Surprised that it was all open plan so cold air could come up from the garage and front door. . Kitchen well thought out and plenty of equipment. The extractor fan didn’t work. Comfortable beds, plenty of hot water. Very steep walk up and down to town, but an exhilarating challenge in sunny weather. Great views as a result.

Ninth season in Queenstown and we have stayed at 2 other rental properties (not Goodstays properties) during prior stays. Galway Court is a great property however the heating system(s) are not sufficient to keep the property warm. Ducted Heating system is programmed to shutdown overnight. Mobile heaters were insufficient to keep house warm during the day or night. Property Management thankfully provided higher power portable heaters that assisted somewhat however we were cold our entire trip. The Goodstays policy for managing garbage is far from ideal. Our family of 5 rented for a period of two weeks and were only provided 2x garbage bags. The policy is that if we used more than 2x garbage bags we would be charged extra to remove additional. The wheelie bins were locked and unavailable. This is highly unusual and not the experience we've had with other properties in Queenstown. It detracted from our experience at Galway Court. The last thing we wanted to deal with on our vacation was disposing of our garbage. This policy does not facilitate recycling as all garbage is placed in the 2 garbage bags provided. For the amount we paid to stay this is a 'cheap' approach to accommodating guests and doesn't encourage repeat patronage. We were cold and spent quality holiday time juggling garbage. Not an experience we will repeat unfortunately...

Highly recommended. The house was big with gorgeous views. It has a couple of function rooms so that the kids can play in the TV room while the adults can dine and wine in the living room. The house has everything that you need - will definitely come back.

The property was very lovely and it was great to have a view of the lake as pictured. The property was clean and tidy.
A couple things for feedback would be that some shower soap, shampoo, conditioner would have been amazing as this is the first place we have stayed and it not be provided.

We had a wonderful experience while staying at 9 Galway Court! I highly recommend this beautiful property. The size of the home is very conducive to a larger family stay or multiple friends/couples stay. The large outdoor deck, living room, dining area, gourmet kitchen and family room allows guests to participate in as much or as little together time as one prefers. It's a terrific layout. The views are spectacular and the walk in to town is quick - downhill all the way. I highly recommend a taxi ride home; however. The steep hills are not for the faint of heart. Further, the management team did an excellent job facilitating information both pre and post stay. Can't wait to stay at 9 Galway Court again some day!

This beautiful modern house surpassed our expectations. It was our first visit to Queenstown and we were glad we found this house. Located high on the mountain the view was spectacular, we couldn't get enough of it. With three bedrooms and each has its own ensuite, it was perfect for our big family. The kitchen was big and the two living rooms were comfortable resting areas especially after a long day of driving. The lock up garage was a bonus to keep our rental car secure. Great location, just 5mins drive to town for food and shopping. Property Manager was quick in responding to any issues we had. We had a great holiday and would definately stay here again and recommend to our family and friends.

Great house and facilities. It has got great views from everywhere in the house and is very modern with all the facilities you can think of (plus some hidden bonuses as well). Definitely recommended.

We stayed in this rental for 4 nights.

Pros;
- Great views
- Close to town (steep hills to climb back up to house!)
-Close to supermarket
-Gas fireplace

Cons;
-Furniture and carpet definitely show its been there awhile as it shows signs of wear and tear
-You must pay for WIFI
-No start up toiletries
-No detergent for Washer
-No hot tub, which we thought it said it had one on the listing, you would have to pay extra for them to get it up and running for your stay

We really loved the house! Its spacious and well appointed and offers magnificent views... but for over $500 a night it needs to have a few things fixed.

1. Two doors wouldn't lock (one on the upstairs balcony and the door between the garage and the house)and although the Manager said that he had organised a locksmith, the doors were not any different. The Compendium states all doors and windows must be locked when out but we were unable to do this. I have never stayed anywhere before where I have not been able to lock all windows and doors.

2. The day before we left the Manager came out to change the gas over when we were out as the gas fire had switched off early in the morning. He called late in the afternoon advising us that he had changed it over and all was good. Sadly, it still didn't work on our return so we can only assume that no one came inside to check that it worked again. Sadly, on our lastnight we were unable to sit by the fire in warmth and warm our toes. We were advised that information was in the Compendium about switching gas bottles over but when three of us checked we couldn't find anything.

3. Additionally, the central heating is not very good in the main bedroom and non-existent in the ensuite. We had to use the small heater to warm up the ensuite as it was like a freezer. When this was mentioned to the Property Manager he wasn't too worried. The advertisement for the house states there is underfloor heating which must mean the vents in the floors.

We have stayed in wonderful accommodation all over the world and although we loved the house and location, I guess for premium dollars for a premium house I just expected that we would have fully functioning heat throughout the house, and a working gas fire for our whole stay.

When advising Goodstays of all these issues, we were not offered any refund or gesture of goodwill so we will find alternative accommodation next time in Queenstown.

Ours was a winter stay so we could not enjoy the verandahs and the barbeque, but we still enjoyed the gorgeous and breathtaking views from the picture windows. The house was well appointed and equipped – the only thing lacking was tissues in the bathrooms (a very minor thing). I would highly recommend this property to anyone visiting Queenstown who wants a “homey” rather than a hotel experience.

This is a a great house with every facility to make a very comfortable holiday. The house offers great views over Queenstown and the rooms are very spacious, with quality fixtures and furniture, including little extras like washing powder in the laundry, a split drawer dishwasher, hairdryer etc. It's proximity to the path up to Queenstown Hill meant that there was some noise late at night but all in all it was a great place to stay.

4 men coming to the south for the q marathon .. Magic time had.

Spectacular views and great end of road location. We enjoyed the home and the appointments. The home is in need of maintenance and I get the feeling Goodstays is more focused on numbers versus quality. Also the home takes a while to get warm and stay warm. Feels like it was really built for summer stays.

I stayed at this property with my family for 4 nights. This property was well appointed and beautifully decorated. The view was spectacular. The property was very clean and tidy. Close to the town, only a few min drive. We loved our stay here.

The property is situated out of the town centre near the top of quite a steep hill. A degree of fitness is neede if walking or having a drink in the town. Driving is straight forward. The views over the lake are exceptional.
The quality of fittings etc is very good. Bed linen and towels are similar. However, some basics like washing machine powder, dish washer liquid, pegs were not available. Most of this was quickly remedied on contact with the letting agent.
The Pub on the Quay is excellent for both food and beer and Fergbaker sells excellent pies, sausage rolls and burgers. All activities associated with Queenstown were easily accessed. A very enjoyable stay overall.

The house at Galway court is truley a home away from home. It has plenty of space for the whole family or perfect for three couples! Each bedroom has its's own bathroom which made our stay much more enjoable. Amazing views over Queenstown and the lake. We hope to be back to Queenstown to stay there again!

The house was fabulous with a great view and it was a lovely property. Could've had more basic info like how to work the oven! There was plenty of DON'Ts don't leave too much rubbish, don't phone us if the info is in the printed material in the property, don't leave it too dirty etc. all resulting in extra charges being levied. They'd have been better focussing on the how to's in the place with reference to the downsides, not focussing on the downsides. it was an expensive place to stay, but it was a lovely property, well situated and with a fantastic view.

This is a lovely house it is needing some tlc as some features did not work properly but none that prevented us from having a great time ove new year. Walking distance to town however as on really steep hill always got a taxi home.

A great property with stunning views and facilities only let down by a lack of bottle opener.
A few points were that, at the price we were paying, it would have been good not to have had to change the gas bottle to get hot water. There should be far greater clarity with the rate/billing. Charging $29 per day for Wi-Fi access should be optional, and should also be available to more than one device at a time. However, these comments are directed at Goodstays, rather than the property, which was absolutely lovely.

Travelled with 4 mates in late August to the Galway Court property. The house has amazing views with multiple outdoor seating areas to enjoy them. The house itself is quite modern and definitely up to a high standard with all its furnishings.

Location is great, perched up the Queenstown hill about a 5-10 min walk to town. The walk back home however is a little harder due to the steep incline of the hill but if walking up hills isn't your thing then a $7 cab will get you there.

The only issues we had with our stay was the hot water and gas not working for 24 hours or so due to the gas tanks running out (to which we were unaware of until calling the goodstays help line). This was fixed late the next day but there was some painful cold showers in the meantime.

The house had a log in WIFI account which we could use, although some days it ran out early if using multiple devices.

Overall a great place to stay, ideal for a family or group of friends travelling to Queenstown.

Would definitely return on future trips!
