Only a stunning 7 minute drive along the lakeside into central Queenstown, you are able to enjoy the best of both worlds; a retreat from the hustle and bustle and proximity to bars, restaurants, Queenstown gardens and all the adventure activities one could hope for. No car? Close-by is a bus stop to downtown and surrounding areas, as well as local shops for convenient stock-ups, and local-favourite dining.

ACCOMODATION DETAILS:
This 2 storey, 4-bedroom home is the ideal vacation spot for families or small groups. Spacious, modern and well appointed, only a short drive into central Queenstown, it has been purposefully built to maximise the stunning mountain outlook.

KITCHEN AND LIVING:
Luxury and taste combine with warmth and sunshine in this two-level home, warmed over winter with extensive heating options including an open gas fire. The generous living/dining/kitchen area features contemporary furnishings, and a fold out double bed in the snug area adjoining the lounge.

OUTDOORS:
Indoor-outdoor living is a key ingredient of a kiwi holiday home and Otago Lodge is no exception, adjacent to the living area is a large, landscaped private outdoor barbecue area that captures hours of sunshine

ENTERTAINMENT:
Modern appliances and technology abound, including flat screen television with Sky TV (cable).

GARAGE AND EXTRAS:
A garage provides the convenience of internal access and storage for luggage and ski gear. There's also on-drive parking for two cars.

Lovely accomodation, spacious, very clean and in a convenient location. The views of the lake was an added bonus. The beds were comfy, the large kitchen, dining and living areas had ample space for guests to cook, dine and relax while enjoying the stunning views of lake Wakatipu. This place exceeded our expectation and communication was easy and fast. Highly recommended and will definitely stay here again.

Thoroughly enjoyed our stay here. The house was spacious, clean and catered for our group of 9 very well. The location is convenient with exceptional views of lake Wakatipu. Would highy recommend for groups or families on vacation after a spacious place to stay with great views.

Nice house. The beds were comfortable and had nice new carpet and a great view. We enjoyed our stay.
To improve: after the third time asking for the leaky toilet to get fixed we were told not to use the toilet. Really? And that the plumber was on holidays. I saw other plumbing vans around town. We paid a lot of money to stay and I expected this to be fixed as my kid use the bathroom in the night and I had to get up to stop it running.
The kitchen could have has some more items in it. It didn't feel like it was a home, more a rental, but adequate.

The property management office staff is very helpful providing information about the property and Queenstown. They are very responsive in email exchanges. There is one small glitch which is the check-in time. The email says 2:00 pm but we are told it is 3:00 when upon arriving at the property.

The property's general condition does NOT meet the standard of the high rental cost. The furnitures are cheap and look beaten, kitchen is poorly equipped, there is no toiletries except for toilet paper.

You get a good view and it takes only 5 minutes drive to town.
We reported faults with laundry and sink taps and were told that the handyman will come and fix the issue. The taps never got fixed during our 5 day stay. Two bottom rooms can get very hot at night times (no aircondition).

Very good. Goodstays staff were very responsive and accommodating. Despite a few minor issues (e.g. sound system issues / WIFI queries), Amanda and team were very helpful in resolving.

Prior to the stay, Amanda was also very good at communicating with us and helping us with our accommodation arrangements. We had initially booked another place - but upon that place not being available, Amanda works to relocate us and provided us with a good substitute. We have had similar issues with other holiday trips, but none have been handled as well as this (generally have resulted in sacrifice from our side or needing to fork out extra $$).

Overall, very satisfied with the stay.

Amazing property . Comfortable and warm with great facilities for everything you need. Great views from a nice outdoor balcony. Highly recommend. Only issue was the stereo surround sound system was broken.

This house is fine for a group, has a superb view, excellent bus service. The dryer didn't work and we got next workday service (2 days later). The bathroom configuration is challenging. One bath downstairs, split bath upstairs with the shower in the master suite so hard to share.

The A/C was not enough for the house size in hot weather and upstairs was HOT. The gaarbage disposal is weak and barely works at all. Our main issues wer not enough garbage service included in the rent (8 people for 10 nights over a holiday) and the metal trim on the stairs had screws that hurt bare feet. My sister caught her sock on a screw causing her to trip and nearly fall down the stairs. Be ure you know what "self catering" means because there are lots of small things you need to buy for yourself.

House house awesome views of the remarkables and over the lake.
House is nice but a bit small for 10 people, lounge only has a 3 seater and a 5 seater. And only 1 bathroom so linimg up in the mornings os fun for a shower.
But its in a good location there is a corner shop 100 metres up the road that have all the basics and if ur keen on walking its about a 15 min walk into town but takes longer going home becuase fernhill road is steep. 6-8 people would be perfect for this home. I would stay again but only with this amount. Awesome spot

We couldn't have enjoyed our stay at Otago Lodge any more. The house is fantastic. Clean, modern, spacious, and very comfortable throughout. Our children didn't want to leave. There is a wine bar, Vnow (amazing food and wine with terrific owner and staff...outstanding spot) and a mini mart which the kids walked to daily as it was a one minute walk. One minute the other way and there was a top notch playground and field for the kids to play. Town is a four minute drive or fifteen minute walk. The views alone from Otago Lodge was worth the stay....We took so many photos from the porch as we were gifted with so many amazing views of the lake, mountains, clouds, rainbows and more.

This is a beautiful spacious and comfortable house with a great kitchen and lovely views. We made the most of the BBQ and outdoor balcony areas. The location is a little far from town for a family to walk, but fine if you have transport. The management of the property let it down. Unfortunately we had very little hot water the evening we arrived and no hot water the next morning. When we called the property manager, he was short with us and told us to read the compendium. It clearly stated that we should have two full bottles of gas, but it turned out that they were both empty. He was unapologetic and blamed the owners of the house saying that they were the last to stay. He flatly refused any compensation and said he would move us to another property if we werent happy. We finally received new gas bottles that afternoon. On our last day, the cleaners arrived at 9.30am all though check out is at 10am.

The only problem is that the master room's toilet does not have a door. As there are 10 of us, it was quite hard having to shut the main room door. I guess it has already been designed that was so that is nothing much we can do about it. Otherwise, all good. Thanks

For the reason of location being very convenient i wouldnt hesitate to pass on Otagos name. While the house was neat and towels on the bed folded neatly, the filth under the carpet was not impressive, especially having infants rolling around on the floor that was not the cleanest. A full vaccum that could have been emptied, an old feed back form that was not taken out of companys folder, Beds sheets that looked untidy when blankets pulled back. According to the Gas man, tanks not being checked/replaced when it should be meant a cold house (3 infants, not happy parents) Not happy husband when informed that if broken lights were an issue they could switch them round themselves (while waiting for maintenance) who then showed up without warning to change lights in sleeping babies room. Lastly at the time of booking, Internet usage was stated or worded to give the impression of being easily available when this was put to you upon our visit Glen read the advert and said No it doesnt have internet but with hotels around you should easily pick up usage. This was NOT the case. We were also there to work Iternet was desperatly needed. Since returning i have read in someone elses comments that from july wording has been change and it no longer give others the impression of being available at this property.
PS: while you add states 2.5 bathrooms the add reads 3.
With 2 families, bathrooms and internet was our only reason for booking Otago
Thankfully the views were unbelievable.

Otago Lodge is just up the hill from the main city centre, far enough to be out of the madness, close enough to get there quickly if you want. The lodge is well presented and tidy, as others mentioned it could do with a few more kitchen supplies, but otherwise it was great.

My only complaint was with internet access, the wording in the advert reads:

"Amenities: modern appliances and technology abound, including flat screen television with Sky TV (cable) and internet access."

To me this is slightly misleading as I assumed that the internet access was on the premises. When I found it was not Goodstays were helpful to point out there is a free wireless available in Queenstown and an internet cafe nearby, unfortunately the signal is too weak to receive at this property. We were able to get wifi from the Aspen across the roas but there is a charge for this. I think this point needs to be reworded in the Otago Lodge advertisement to avoid others making the same mistake.

All in all I recommend Otago Lodge and goodstays. Very easy to deal with and the streamlined process is much appreciated.

Otago Lodge is a modern spacious place that totally suited our family of 8. We all enjoyed sitting on the balcony taking in the spectacular views towards the remarkables and lake wakatipu. We all took advantage of the location with the challenges of hill fitness on offer!
